Smart Sentry

Privacy policy

Last updated 29 September 2026

Who we are

Smart Sentry makes a home alarm system: a hub, wireless motion sensors, a remote and this app. Smart Sentry is made by Future Technology, the developer named on our app store listing. This policy explains what information the system uses, why it needs it, and the choices you have. It covers the app, the hub and sensors, and our website.

What we collect

What we do not collect

How we use it

We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

Where it is kept and who can see it

Your information is stored with trusted cloud service companies that run our servers and deliver notifications to phones. They may only use it to provide that service to us. Our servers are mainly in South Africa and the European Union; alarms reach your phone through the notification service built into your phone's operating system.

Only you and the people you share access with can see your system and its alerts. We look at your information only when you ask us for help or to keep the service secure, and we share it with authorities only when the law requires us to.

Security

Every hub has its own secret keys, and the hub checks every command from the app before it acts on it. Connections between your hub, our servers and the app are encrypted. If your internet goes down, the hub, sensors and remote keep protecting your home. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep improving and ask you to use a strong, unique password.

Children

Smart Sentry accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For important changes we will also tell you in the app before they take effect.
